The RCT Labour Group would like to extend a big “thank you” to all of those residents across the County Borough who put their faith in their local Welsh Labour candidates at May’s election.
Following a successful last term where we delivered, or made significant progress on, every single one of our core commitments, it was amazing to see so many Welsh Labour Councillors being returned, giving us a clear mandate to continue delivering for our communities over the next five years.
All 59 Welsh Labour Councillors are now already busy responding to local issues and also going about delivering on this administration’s ambitious core commitments and priorities for the County Borough.
RCT Labour Group Leader, Councillor Andrew Morgan OBE, said: “In the recent local elections, residents in communities across RCT once again put their faith in Welsh Labour to lead Rhondda Cynon Taf for the next Council term.
“On behalf of all 59 Members of the Labour Group on RCT Council, and those candidates who were unfortunately unsuccessful, I’d like to thank all of those residents who voted for their local Welsh Labour candidates.
“As we come out of the pandemic, we are already faced with a new challenge as we tackle the worst cost of living crisis in a generation, presided over by the Westminster Tory Government.
“Responding to this and providing protection for residents where we can will no doubt be the key challenge of this Council term, however, we will continue to press ahead with our ambitious vision for RCT and ensure that all of our core commitments are delivered once again.”
